I've upgraded my printer with an NPN inductive proximity sensor, model LJ12A3-4-Z/BY, and it's performing flawlessly. Check out the full installation details on my blog at http://play.fallows.ca. Here are the instructions for those interested: I designed this custom part in CAD after meticulously measuring every detail. I then printed it out of ABS material with precision. To ensure a rock-solid mounting to the hot end, I've incorporated brackets into the design. This innovative solution allows me to move the cooling fan to the side of the heat sink, optimizing airflow and thermal efficiency.
