What a good opportunity to design some additional bike support & isolation mounts it ties in nicely with the work I've been doing over the last few months. www.bike-design.blogspot.com www.iso-l8r.blogspot.co.uk/ Looking at the Motor for the bike I see rotation in one direction can be stopped with a surface of the motor, so perhaps 2 directions not needed. Not sure if the idea of the competition is to come up with a replacement to the plate & locking washers, key slot, where these not sufficient? Not sure if I should post each design separate. First design is based on a scissor action, rotation would cause it to grip tighter, but without too much time spent on the design, in case the multiple tightening points would be too much of a weak spot. Second Version seems like it would be a lot easier to make, rubber bung adjusting bar runs through 2 Bung Bushings. Mount on second side, or just a shorter adjusting tie. These concepts include a few red herrings or unfinished parts. Some parts could be manufactured in a number of ways. Knobs to be replaced with suitable fixing. Still wondering if the entire plate should be replaced, or if we need to produce working model? Is the prize for concept or working model? Is concept enough? What happens when the concept isn't unique? What happens if someone submits a more refined version of the same idea? Can't wait to see how this turns out. 3rd & 4th version...
