Super Mario 64 Penguin

Super Mario 64 Penguin

My rendition of the Super Mario 64 penguin. This is not the actual in-game model, but a close approximation I made based on pictures of the character. The model is slightly hollowed to reduce mass while keeping structural integrity. I've only tried this model on a powder-based printer, so I don't know how a MakerBot will handle it. Note: I am new to 3D modeling and 3D printing, so I'm still trying to find what works best. The file is considered 100% done, but I may make tweaks when I see they are needed. Feel free to edit the file yourself to suit your needs. Instructions Supports and raft strongly recommended. Finished on MakerBot 2X and it appears to work alright. I made this with a 3DSystems ProJet 160 monochrome powder-based printer. The model should be ready to go at the size it is. Powder-based prints seem to work well with water-based acrylic paint. I sprayed a coat of clear acrylic spray paint to add a bit of gloss to it. The smaller one in the picture was treated with epsom salt and the larger one was treated with ColorBond. The wings are safe up until the tips, which are a little fragile in a powder print.
