These are a couple tables I made out of 4-71 GM superchargers. I had a friend come to me a couple weeks ago asking if I could make her a custom table for her boyfriend as a birthday present. I do custom performance projects as a hobby but not usually furniture. She was looking for a coffee table that used an engine block or something mechanical for the base. I didn’t have an aluminum v8 or anything light enough laying around to make it from an engine. I remembered that I had a few blowers on the shelf in my shop that I wasn’t using for anything. I thought they would work perfect for any motorhead piece of furniture because when the pulley is turned on top, the rotor vanes spin and spiral inside the blower. I came up with the design to mount the blower up off the floor and under the table top. I designed the mounting brackets to support everything and look clean and professionally made. The frame parts are made out of laser cut ¼” thick 5052-H32 aluminum and formed and then I glass beaded them. The table top and blower covers are made out of laser cut lexan and the pulley and pulley adaptor shaft I modeled and 3d printed, then painted. All of the hardware are SS button heads. The tables work great and look good for what I wanted to do. I’m going to use the second one as an end table. The blowers weren’t modified in any way so they can still be unbolted from the table and used atop another performance project if needed. I thought I’d share this and upload the files if anyone else wanted to make one. I did not model the blower because I only needed the flange dimensions to mount it which are in the files. This was just a rush side project but it was a lot of fun.
