Fathom Make The Unmakeable Challenge #3 - Runner UpNo Surveyor will leave home without a SurveyPro. In the dome formation with six linked GoPro Hero 4 cameras, one of which is pointed down, there is enough overlap in the field of view of each camera that any point below the drone will show up in at least 3 images. This arrangement will allow a Surveyor to download and analyze the images with photogrammetry and develop a 3D point cloud of the landscape or construction site. Flip over the SurveyPro and place five Hero 4s in a horizontal configuration and now the surveyor can create photosphere of interior spaces for Building Managers and Owners. At the end of each construction day the SurveyPro will fly into every room snapping a progress photosphere. This will allow the surveyor to document the buildings progress, making it easy to locate a leaky pipe behind a wall years after construction is complete. The SurveyPro has an optimized topology structure by only using support material where necessary. This reduces the amount of material required for manufacturing and because the part is 3D printed allows for internal supports that would not be possible with traditional methods of manufacturing. Using a Polyjet printer enables the part to be created in a single print, with sturdy material to support the camera and flexible material for the camera strap joints. Technology: Polyjet Material: ABS Shore 85 for primary structure and shore 40 for joints shaded dark gray in close up photo.
