As a family, we like sushi nori rolls. Making it at home means we can come up with our own stuffings. This sushi maker is a revision to my past design. Perhaps not traditional Japanese, but we find it useful. This design accommodates the following changes to my original design: 1. Makes a narrower diameter (43mm) nori roll 2. Handles a nori sheet of 202x190mm 3. Includes a tamper to press a ridge in the initial sushi rice layer 4. A frame to keep the nori ends out of the way as you apply the roll filling 5. Longer handle for the sushi press The sushi maker inside dimension are: 43 x 202mm. The maker includes cutting slots, so a full length roll can be cut into 8 equal pieces. The maker is in several printed parts: - Base frame - Press and handle - Tamper - Nori frame The handle is secured to the press with two 6g (3.5mm) x 15mm stainless steel screws. Here is my 3D design. My design may match your needs, too. A (over-simplified) roll filling guide: 1. Place a sheet of nori evenly in the base. 2. Fill a layer of 10mm sushi rice. 3. Use tamper to press a ridge in the centre of the roll rice. 4. Include filling (be creative) 5. Place a 10mm layer of sushi rice on top. 6. Use press to firm up the nori rice and filling. 7. Wrap the nori ends together into a roll. 8. Cut. 9. Eat My print is made in PETG 1.75mm Aurarum purple filament, with 0.2mm layer height and 15% infill on a PRUSA I3 MK3S printer. I hope you can find this design useful, too. Remember to leave me some feedback or even a tip to keep me enthused to make more of these drawings.
