RENDERING STEP / IGES

A design in the form of a suspension type bridge. The idea was to move most of the load bearing components to the centre of the module, thereby minimising floor thickness and maximising compactness. The design has 22 degrees in roll pitch and yaw. It utitilises two extending central rails from which the floor beams are suspended. Ovelapping panels provide the walking surface. The beams were to be constrained with a pulley arrangement which I have not had time to complete, niether a structural or mass analysis, but I have provided here what I managed to achieve. I think it is an ideal arrangement in theory, although more complex in practise. The design could be simplified to achieve the minimum requirements (15 degrees in roll pitch and yaw) The rails also double as handrails.
