Suspension Fork Cage Mount

Suspension Fork Cage Mount

This cage mount uses 1/2" hose clamps to provide fork mounting points for bottle cages, bags, etc. on suspension forks such as the Fox 34. I used 4 of them on a recent bikepacking trip to carry 3 mounted bags and a Widefoot CargoMount with zero issues. A central mounting option could be used alone or for a narrow object (maybe a pump?) between the two offset mounting positions. Low Profile M5 nylock nuts are installed from the inside with enough space to avoid any contact with the fork. The length of screw you'll need depends on what you're attaching - I used 10mm. Dry fit everything before you attach to the bike to be sure your screws aren't too long. You'll have to drill 3 holes spaced 1.125" apart in your hose clamp. Easiest to insert the hose clamp and mark with a sharpie. A center punch will help keep your drill bit from wandering. Printing in Nylon gives these enough flex to work on any fork that is roughly similar diameter to a Fox 34. I used a few wraps of clear Gorilla Tape on the fork to prevent scratching, may add some inner tube next ride as the hose clamp cut through the tape in a couple small spots.
