Sutherland Harp Sharping Lever - 3D printed

Sutherland Harp Sharping Lever - 3D printed

sketchfab

This is a simulated cast brass sharping lever for a celtic harp. Sharping levers are used to engage with the harp strings to sharpen the pitch (by a semitone) by shortening the vibrating length of the string. The prototype levers are 3D printed, & these can then be used to create molds for spin casting in brass, bronze & possibly aluminium or titanium for strength & durability. The 3D printed ABS plastic version of the Sutherland Lever has been extensively tested for many years on a number of Robyn Sutherland’s hire harps - http://www.robynsutherland.com/harp-hire.html, & these levers may be available for sale in the near future… Any enquiries or feedback welcomed.
