SW Equinox ED80 focus motor connector

SW Equinox ED80 focus motor connector

thingiverse

This simple design will directly connect a focus stepper motor (specifically, a NEMA14 19:1 geared motor) to a SkyWatcher Equinox ED80 pro telescope to automate focusing. It also needs a flexible drive coupler as shown (you can print one if you like, there are designs on Thingiverse but I used an aluminium one because I had some in stock). Just loosen a single screw and remove the focus knob, attach the motor to the connector using 4 x 3mm machine screws, push the motor bracket onto the focuser housing (see pics) and secure in place with a single 4mm screw. The tapped hole is already there on the scope for this purpose. Print Settings Printer: Wanhao 4S Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 35 Notes: You'll probably need to generate supports unless your printer is very good at bridging, I did anyway. Print it vertically with the scalloped end at the top.
