Swarf Scoop for HAAS CNC

Swarf Scoop for HAAS CNC

This is a hand tool to accompany CNC machines. This swarf scoop is a fairly big scoop to hold approximately 1L of swarf. I designed it to fit a HAAS MILL to remove swarf or chips from the bottom of the machine. It fits nicely into the chip collection area. There are two scoop versions - one with drain holes - one without. The handle is a separate model and it is threaded metric M6 x 1.0. I use M6 cap head screws. You will likely need to clean out the threads with a tap before the bolt will go in. There is also a matching paddle which lets you push the swarf into the scoop. It has two parts and needs to be bolted together also with metric M6 bolts. NOTE: (Sorry the bolt holes in the swarf paddle aren't quite aligned right, just drill them out and use nuts to bolt the parts together. I'll try to get this fixed and upload a revision.) Print the scoop with the back on the bottom of the print and you won't need any supports. I've printed it with and without a brim - I'm not sure it's needed. Print the handle vertical too. Just like how the various parts are shown on the thingiverse preview. I printed this with 0.3mm on 50% infill and 5 perimeters with PETG. Set your printer with strength in mind. Thanks - John
