SW“ light This ist the light version oft the „Speedy Red Swept Wing 2“printed in LW-PLA. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1666561 I used the slim fuselage. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3754351 Additionally I glued parts from PLA to reinforce the fuselage. Meanwhile, it is no longer red and not "speedy". It should mainly fly slowly and have a good glide angle. Now the center of gravity problem has shifted strongly to the rear. The wing (400 grams) has become so light that, in addition to the battery, the controller must also go to the rear. Originally I also wanted to take only 10 g servos. Now I even used robust clevises and M2 threaded rods for the linkage For the first flight we had reduced the deflections of the ailerons a bit. That was then nevertheless somewhat too little. With tailwind the plane was so slow in glide that it did not want to turn. This was only possible with appropriate engine thrust. After increasing the deflections, this was no longer a problem. We were enthusiastic about the glide angle. This is also the reason that it will now be used for measurement flights. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/kDlbaorHTiw" title="Swept Wing 2 light LW-PLA printed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> For the LW-PLA version, the fuselage must be reinforced (inlay middle) in the center of gravity area so that it is not crushed during launching by hand. Material PLA extrusion width 0.4 mm, layer height 0.25 mm, 2 perimeters, no infill, no solid bottom/top layer The inlay in front (inlay front) stiffens the nose together with the motor bulkhead. Material PLA extrusion width 0.5 mm, layer height 0.25 mm, 2 perimeters, 30% infill, 5 solid bottom layer, no top layer I have now extended the lipo base to the inlay middle. Instead of printing it hollow in PLA, you could also print it solid in LW-PLA. New is also the fin. It can be printed in spiral vase mode. Material LW-PLA extrusion width 0.5 mm, layer height 0.2 mm, 1 perimeter, no infill, 5 solid bottom layer, no top layer
