Switch Assembly
thingiverse
This is a versatile switch assembly designed specifically for use with a CNC pendant. I've broken out this project into its own post to make it easier for you to access and incorporate into your own endeavors. To build this assembly, I employed 4 MXRS micro-switches, 2 precision-made springs from McMaster-Carr (product code 9657K651), and a sturdy 3mm x 5mm component. The switches are securely fastened using self-tapping 2mm screws. The springs play a crucial role in centering the switch contacts, enabling a smooth center-off function with one or both switches actuated in each direction, thereby providing a 2-speed functionality. To assemble the springs, follow the layout as shown and secure the central post with a 3mm screw. Verify that the springs are properly centering the contact points and that the switch action is seamless, without any sticking or hesitation. You may need to lightly sand the rails for optimal performance. For a detailed explanation of how I implemented this switch assembly in a CNC pendant design, please refer to my designs section.
