Switch usb for security keys for software, for example CAD/CAM software. Seen the requirement in the office to pass the key from one PC to another (very uncomfortable), and since not all switches on the market are compatible for this type of keys, I decided to build one on its own. The PCB is designed with KiCad, very complete free software to design circuit boards. I homebuilt the printed circuit board with the process of heat transfer. I used a rotary switch with 4 contacts and 3 positions. the case has been laser cutted and then, folded. being the first prototype, I have noticed that for the USB hardware keys work perfectly, but for USB flash memory but no ... maybe because the USB cable (5m) have too much noise for long distances. if I had to make a new version, I would link the copper area of the printed circuit to the metal housing of the USB connectors, in order to "shield" the circuit, which I have not done ...
