This design is based on "Baton Lélé" (cut from the Quararibea Turbinata aka Swizzlestick Tree) This is the original swizzle stick. An essential tool for making the once popular, and coming back, rum-swizzle drinks. Also, vodka-swizzles. The stick is inserted in the tall drink and rubbed between the palms. The effect is distinct from shaking or stirring a drink. Swizzling does two things: 1) it causes frost on the exterior of the glass, and 2) it does not disturb the mint or any other muddled substance at the bottom.
