Swords--Nerdslayer and Dragonfucker
thingiverse
Proof of concept that mastering the art of blacksmithing through online tutorials can empower individuals to create impressive swords using a computer-aided design software. Watching countless hours of blacksmithing videos has clearly demonstrated its potential to translate into successful 3D printing projects, and I'm convinced that scaling up these designs would result in formidable cutting tools. Carbon fibre reinforced ABS proved to be an ideal material for this experiment, albeit one that required printing lengthwise to achieve optimal strength. Unfortunately, the presence of supports resulted in an uneven appearance on one side, suggesting that vertical printing might yield better results with alternative materials.
