Check out our website and YouTube channel at http://Video-Drone.DIY3DTech.com for more information on this project and other DIY builds. This transmitter modification allows users to mount a larger 2.4 GHz antenna (see below) to the back of the Syma X8 series transmitter, which may also work with the X5 model. Two versions are available: one designed for the larger 2.4gig mounts (around 12mm x 12mm) and another for the smaller ones (about 7mm x 7mm). Below you'll find links to suggested antennas as well as the Syma X8C Quadcopter! For more on this project, watch our two-part YouTube series: episode 1 (https://youtu.be/XnO2CfRscGs) covers design considerations and episode 2 (https://youtu.be/-raWYPqWJoE) shows how to print the design using a Monoprice Mini 3D Printer (http://amzn.to/2alpYKU). Recommended antennas include: 2.4GHz 6dBi Omni-directional Antenna:http://amzn.to/2fkmdWk and 9dBi RP-SMA Dual Band Antenna 2.4GHz:http://amzn.to/2eAD7hO. The Syma X8C Venture with 2MP Wide Angle Camera 2.4G 4CH RC Quadcopter is available at http://amzn.to/2eiE03k. Print Settings: Printer: Any Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.3 or better Infill: 20 to 50% Notes: Support is required from the "touching bed" perspective for the top layer, otherwise it's a straightforward print. To add extra durability, you can apply a light coat of quick-drying epoxy to the interior of the print, especially if using a larger antenna.
