This is the first of 3 experimental greeting card prints. They demonstrate the conversion of any image into a 4 3d models comprising cyan, magenta, yellow and black (the key - referred to as k in print files). They also aim to test the limits of PrusaSlicer and a single material Mk3S with a 0.4mm nozzle in detailed printing.
The conversion involves:

Resize the image in Microsoft Paint to 9 times less resolution than is printable (e.g my current limit is 191 on a 250mm x-axis - see 3 below)

Index the image in Gimp using a palette I have devised of 220 cmyk combinations
3 Resize the image up by 9 (x-axis limit 573 - pixel size 0.436mm)
4 Using a Script-fu I have written convert each 3x3 into 9 cmyk pixels and save as a raw image
5 Using a program I have written in Chez Scheme convert the image into 4 obj files (I believe this to be a first method of converting a 2d image to 3d model that does not use svgs)

Scale each model in Meshmixer

Backing and message are designed in Inkscape and Tinkercad

I am happy to provide further details and code if you message me

I acknowledge the copyright of the The Official Kwanzaa website and Microsoft Paint.

Print instructions

None of the files will print correctly without following these instructions (which are still a work in progress)

The following instructions assume use of generic PLA.

Ideally you need cyan, magenta, yellow and black filament. If you use different colours - google images of Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe for the effect.

Slicing:

For all 6 files

Once loaded into PrusaSlicer you may need to rotate the object 90 degrees

In Print settings - Skirt and brim set Loops to 0

For the for 4 image files ONLY in Print Settings
a) In Layers and perimeters change the following: Vertical shells - Perimeters 0 and Horizontal shells - Bottom 0
b) In Infill change the following: Fill, Top fill and Bottom fill Concentric, Solid infill every 1 and Bridging angle 45
c) In Speed change the following: Modifiers - First layer speed 5
d) In Advanced change the following: Extrusion width - First layer 0.38 and Flow - Bridge flow rate 1.05

For the backing and message files ONLY
In Printer Settings change the following: Size and coordinates - Z offset 0.2
WARNING: IF YOU ENTER A NEGATIVE NUMBER HERE YOU WILL DAMAGE YOUR PRINTER

Printing
Print the 4 image files first in any order.
