Syringe Tray

Syringe Tray

I have a diabetic dog that requires two insulin injections a day. Missing an injection is not good....giving a double dose can be fatal. I wanted something like a pill reminder but could find nothing commercially available for syringes( edit: Actually, just search for "syringe tray" and you will find them). I also looked for a simple plastic organizer tray but didn't find one with 7 slots. This tray helps provide visual indication that an injection was given. Simply fill the tray at the beginning of the week and you can easily tell what shot is due. I also use a printed matrix with the day of the month as the columns and the medication as the row (she also needs eye drops). The font for the lettering is "Minecraft Evenings" and was drawn as 3D text using Sketchup. I've included the Designspark Mechanical file for modification, if someone likes. It's easy to split the text off of the top and import your own. If using Sketchup, be sure to save the new text as a Sketchup 2014 file. I couldn't get DSM to import the current version "sketchup" type file. The tray bottom measures 191mm X 130mm X 19mm so it takes a while to print (over 9 hours for me). I tried to make the top press on but I had to use some glue to hold mine on. They syringes are 3/10ml, U100 type. **Update 6/19/2018** I added another top piece with more conventional style letters, which I actually prefer. I also printed some with a .6mm nozzle on my Creator Pro and CR10. This type of object works very well with a .6mm nozzle (.3mm layer height) and cut the print time almost in half.
