T-Hold: Ninja Warrior Series

thingiverse

This original Ninja Warrior-style hold was inspired from the TV show "American Ninja Warrior" and the dreaded obstacle deemed the Ultimate Cliffhanger. With ledges that are roughly 1.25" deep, the UC was a significant challenge for any ninja--to this day, less than 15 competitors (out of 5000+) have completed it on the show. This model is a variation on the UC: designed to hang, it can rock back and forth, which adds an extra level of difficulty. The hold can be griped from either side (or both!) and can fit right into any ninja warrior course. It can be printed using typical PLA filament (no pesky ABS) and is strong enough to hold roughly 250 pounds with roughly 70 percent infill. To assemble the hold, you will need one 3/8" x 3" eye bolt, one 3/8" hex nut, and one 3/8" x 1" washer. The eye bolt can then be screwed in to the hole, which is a naturally tight fit. The washer can then be placed in line with the eye bolt (it fits snugly in the larger hole on the bottom), and the hex nut can then be placed underneath the washer. It is necessary to ensure that each part is secured together tightly--because this is a larger hold, a washer was added to provide extra support, and its functionality would be significantly decreased if the assembly was not properly tightened. Now, all you need is some rope (to be strung through the eye bolt) and a place to hang it up. Then, you'll have a fully-functional ninja warrior-style T-Hold!
