Space saving furniture allow the same functionality in less space. Student hostels have a limited space availability. I came up with this concept of a Table cum Bed mechanism to allow more better utilization of space in hostels.The Design Highlights are as follows:Dual Function – Table and Bed. This helps in reducing cost and optimizing the available space.Ingeniously designed robust mechanism –Telescopic and bar linkages have been used.Ergonomically designed for minimum lifting force.A combination of metal and plywood has been used.Foldable plates used which can be opened when converting to bed.Kinematic and collision analysis has been carried out to determine the optimum configuration
