Table hook with flexible fixation

Table hook with flexible fixation

I created this table hook in a hurry, without any mechanical calculation. It was simply a proof of concept, i wanted a hook, that can be used for different tabletop thicknesses (between 18-22mm). So I designed a simple flexure fixation mechanism, which works just fine. The rest of the hook - especially - the arm is somewhat clumsy, it can be optimized a lot (e.g. you can practice FEA on it).

Pros:

The design concept definitely works

One single part

Cons:

material selection (PETG) is not optimal at all, the little fins - although they're just 1mm thick - are still too stiff, all the connection points have been deformed permanently. I have to pick some other - more flexible - material, of adapt the geometry to the available material

geometry of the fins have to be modified: an S-shaped fin would be much better than the normal 45° walls, that I used.

Still, I can use the hook now, maybe I'll redesign it in the future, if I have time.
