This a dust collector, guard, splitter for saws that were made before saws came with riving knives standard. The riving knife only works for square cuts as it is built in to the throat plate. I have been using a throat plate for years, and this is just an upgrade, mostly so I can dust collect off of the backside of the blade. Keep the sheet good dust out of my lungs! Instructions This is printed in 4 pieces. I've built acceptable support into the pieces where necessary. Print and glue together the parts. I like to use a glue with solids in it for structural pieces like this. I also flood the surfaces with acetone after assembly. This seems to make the parts less likely to split between layers, as well as relieve some of the stress that we all seem to experience with tall thin builds. A poor print can be salvaged by soaking and then clamping. If use and not looks matters..... The adjustment bolt is a scavenged t-slot bolt (5/16ths) cut to length. The Riving knife can be made from 1/8th inch aluminum stock 60mm wide and 60+mm high above the table. It passes through the throat plate and can be made secure by bolting through a block glued to the bottom of the plate, as well as a couple of #10 1 1/2" screws running cross ways through the edge of the throat plate and the knife. I use a couple of set screws in the edge of the plate to keep it centered in the opening. You will want to shape the front edge of the knife and thin it so it is slightly smaller than your saws kerf or it hangs up. There is an adapter included that adapts to a 2 1/2" vac hose (not shown in photo) This is probably not UL approved, imagine that. Use at your own risk.
