This jig is a model of one I built for my basement wood shop to cut frame pieces on a table saw. It is perfect for picture frames. It slides in a miter slot and slides to and away from the saw blade while being able to cut joints at 0 to 45 degrees left or right. There are knobs for adjusting the angle and for setting the cut from the blade. Then you just slide forward to make a pass. I included in one picture a frame in progress to show the joints all are cut with this jig. Note this is not just a model but a working jig which I used to make window frames for a doorway transom. routing out the curved slot was the most difficult part of the build. If anyone likes it and wants to build it I will make instructions on how to use it. Request: I used pine appearance for the sides of the melamine MDF pieces. If anyone has an appearance of High Density MDF or would like to make one I can use in solidworks 2012 I would appreciate it as I have more projects that use HD MDF. I included a picture of what I mean. One might ask why I used MDF for this project and others. I used it because I obtained it free. The sheets I used were formerly part of a store display namely a pallet display for batteries from a Sam's club. Secondly the melamine surface is very low friction so it slides easily on a table saw.
