By Ben Kreimer, BuzzFeed Open Lab Fellow This is the first prototype of Ben's freestanding, 3D printed 360-degree camera mount for two GoPros and a Zoom H2 or Zoom H2n 360-degree audio recorder. It can also be flown underneath a DJI Phantom 2 quadcopter. An earlier version of this table based configuration was used to film a 360-degree video of the BuzzFeed San Francisco office's Thanksgiving Soylent tasting. This 360-degree camera mount is designed to hold two GoPro 3+ Black cameras with the GoPro Dual Hero System and aftermarket 185-degree field-of-view lenses. Conceived as a low cost, low weight, 360-degree camera system for flying on a DJI Phantom 2 drone, it costs a third as much as traditional six GoPro 360-degree camera systems, and has better video quality than consumer 360-degree cameras, along with the ability to stream first-person view video from the front facing GoPro. The mount comes pre-drilled with two holes matching the DJI Phantom 2 GoPro Mounting Bracket. Don't forget to print the legs and base!
