Tablet Stand - works with iPad 2 and iPad Air

The idea behind the original by Gizmoguyar is exactly what I was looking for as it enables the iPad to be supported at two different angles in both portrait and landscape orientaion. However, I found a few problems which this remix is designed to fix. In the original, the connector piece had 'prongs' which were longer on one side than the other (Maybe because I scaled the original by 25.4 in Netfabb as I use millimetres rather than inches as my default measurement but whatever, the prongs stuck out on one side and not the other). I wanted each of the main side pieces to have the shiny side, (the face printed next to the glass surface of my build platform), to be on the outside. In the original, one STL is used for both sides which does not allow this. Maybe not strictly necessary but I wanted a little bit more support to keep the sides parallel to each other. The connector piece on the original was way too tight for me as its prongs were the same size as the holes into which they fit on the sides. I made them a wee bit smaller - still tight but less sanding or filing required if at all. I wanted to add some text to one of the side pieces and to do this, shortened the length of the connector prongs so that they do not go all the way through. What you see here in the photographs has my name on it rather than the "iPad" text which is on the STL. Printed in Faberdashery PLA: Mellow Yellow and Spacemarine blue. The iPad is one of the newer "Air" models with an Apple case. I have also tried an iPad2 and that fits too - happy days! Instructions Each of the two side pieces is designed to print at 0.3mm layer height. The connector and bar (two bars are required) are designed to print at 0.2mm. Print the each of the two sides with the 'flat' sides on the glass plate - the "iPad" text faces towards the glass and is only one layer deep. I used a 20% infill value which worked well. All three connectors push fit into place reasonably easily although a rubber mallet comes in useful to bring everything into the home position nicely!
