Tachikoma (Ghost in the Shell)

It's a Tachikoma! Rather than buying a Tachikoma figure I thought it was about time I designed my own (Motoko not included) Credit to MarcRichmond (http://marcrichmond.deviantart.com/art/Tachikoma-FT-CR-194128872) for the blueprint this model is based on. Really nice piece. Print Settings Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: i3 MK2S Resolution: 0.2 - 0.05 Infill: Varies Notes: Printed in ABS then acetone vapour smoothed. Large parts printed at 0.2 mm base layer height then using Slic3r's variable layer heights to increase resolution to 0.05 mm layers on upper curved surfaces. Small parts printed at 0.15 mm resolution. Supports were only used on the abdomen shell parts to support the tops of the openings for the side doors and underside eye section. Single Part Models A_Tachikoma_Single_Body_Solid B_Tachikoma_Single_Body_Hollow These files have the Tachikoma as a single body with no interfering faces. The hollow version has the abdomen section hollowed out to shift the centre of mass forward. Not sure that it's absolutely necessary to prevent tipping backward but it does slightly reduce the amount of material required. Multi Part Figure C_Tachikoma... Basic CAD model split into sections, bodies combined and ball and socket joints modeled in. No further preparation for printing so likely to need supports. Joints are not designed to snap together and hold, they must be glued into a fixed pose. Multi Part Figure split up for Printing D_Tachikoma... This is the model split up as I printed it with minimal supports and optimal build orientation. Multiple parts: Alignment_Pin x6 (one in each leg and each arm) Arm_Part_01 x2 Head_Part_03 x4 All Leg Parts x4 Building a Tachikoma from these files requires a lot of finishing work, all of my pieces were vapour smoothed then glued together. Gaps were filled and sanded before painting. Some parts have two versions, one the basic part and one with a built in 0.2 mm brim for better bed adhesion. Multiple Part Assembly Tachikoma_ASM_Multiple_Bodies Contains all of the individual bodies from the basic CAD model before being split and combined for printing. Contains both foot versions. Included for anyone who wants to play around with the model but not ideal for printing without some preparation work.
