!!WARNING!! I am not a structural engineer! I am making this shit up as I go along. The risk I see with the project is the risk of the PETG limbs giving out while under tension. This could result in the limbs shattering. For safety sake, I'm going to tell you right now that the whole thing could explode while under tension, presenting a serious risk of injury. I am not responsible for any injuries or damages. Use at your own risk. Also, I would not recommend using printed bolts. I've seen them shatter on impact and even seen one or two break up, on release. This is the 3rd version of my crossbow mod and the second version of a compound crossbow mod. All the major parts can be printed in PLA except the bows, which if printed, need to be done in PETG. There are versions available that use fiberglass rods for the limbs, and I'm planning one that uses sections of PVC pipe that are flattened and shaped with a heat gun. https://youtu.be/PYHh9sySU1Q Structural parts under tension should be printed with MANY walls. PETG bow limbs should be printed with 99999 top layers and 0 infil. Print one limb at a time, then reprint the same gcode so the limbs are identical.
