Food Pyramid Vocabulary Cards During a two week course, seven high school students worked with their Art teacher, Public Library Makerspace, and blind Spanish teacher to develop these 3d designed cards. Each card communicates a specific food in five ways: Raised tactile graphic (student designed) Spanish English Braille ASL (QR code scans to video with sign) Each card has a symbol on the upper left hand corner which signifies both orientation and the food group that the food belongs too. [An improvement for future versions is using a different font and font measurements to make coloring in the embedded font much easier and with a Sharpie] Each card takes approximately 1 hour to print at 1 hour and 10 minutes to print at 70 mm / sec speed, .2mm resolution, and 30% infill. You can generate finer quality prints by printing slower, adding more walls, or infill. You can use these as traditional cards or add an adhesive to the back, like velcro or a simple magnet for a magnetic white board. Print 1 or all 24!
