Hi! I am Anushka Potdar, a student at the Morris County Academy for Mathematics, Science, and Engineering. When I was young, I visited the Taj Mahal and I remember being humbled and breathtaken by the architectural wonder. Being one of the Seven Wonders, this stunning marvel of engineering certainly displays both structural balance and harmony and is nothing short of a great architectural achievement. Its monumental scale and intricately embellished white marble body are of fascination to the eyes of all beholders. Perhaps the most beautiful and unique aspect of the Taj Mahal is its color changing tendency. The hues of the Taj Mahal change throughout the day from a pinkish and soft grey in the morning, to a milky white in the evening, a beautifully golden hue during sunset, and a delicate baby blue at night when lit by the moon. Many call this tendency the changing “mood” of the Taj Mahal, giving the architectural perfection a life of its own. This color changing tendency of the architectural wonder is the root of my inspiration. Due to my fascination in the structure, I chose to model the Taj Mahal and aspired to reflect in my design the dynamic nature of the structure. In order to achieve this I aspired to develop a multi use design. It was then that I decided to transform the Taj Mahal into an elegant four game console consisting of pool, chess, mancala, and checkers, four classic pastimes around the world and perhaps the most enjoyable and popular. This piece provides enthusiasts of all ages the unique opportunity to play a variety of games on a piece with a rich history. Included is a pool board and chess/checkers/mancala board both of which fit seamlessly into the reverse of the Taj Mahal. After playing any of the 4 games on the reverse of the Taj Mahal, it can be flipped over and be proudly displayed as a decorative piece symbolizing eternal love and can be flipped over anytime to play again. All pieces are included for pool, checkers, chess, and mancala and can be conveniently stored inside the reverse side of the Taj Mahal. Encompassed in this unique design is both convenience and great entertainment capacity. The 4 games, easy storage, and showpiece setups are shown in the 6 images attached. The Taj Mahal 5 in 1 Game Table can easily be printed by printing the assemblies attached in a scale factor of 80%.
