Tamiya Stadium Blitzer Rear Shock Tower

Rear shock tower for the Tamiya Stadium Blitzer/Blitzer Beetle/Bearhawk. I decided to mimic the original Stadium Blitzer shock tower with some significant reinforcements as the shock tower on a used Blitzer I had purchased had already begun cracking at the shock mount. The original shock tower on the Tamiya Blitzer series has some unique challenges based on how it is designed and how the shock is mounted. In kit form, there is not a lot of thread engagement, and continued cyclical loading of the shocks causes the mount to split - especially over the life of the car (UV, chemicals also shorten the time to cracking). This design keeps the mounting location but increases the mount diameter while also increasing the thickness of reinforcing around these posts. The hole is through the entire length, so longer screws can be used if desired. Additionally, due to some of the inherent weaknesses of 3D printing the part, the mounting flanges to the bathtub have been thickened to provide a much more robust shock tower. Tap the mounting provisions with a M3 tap, and use M3 machine screws. You may want to increase your mounting screws to the chassis by 2 mm. Print positioning/orientation is critical on this part. While not the most robust of the shock mounts, I would recommend printing with support structures and placing the forward facing portion of the shock tower (when mounted) on the build plate of your printer. This will give you the strongest mounting flanges. Light filing may be necessary to ensure it sits flush.
