Size: 180mm x 60mm x 4mm (width at gearbox mount is 70mm)

Main Body for use with the Tamiya tank tread hobby kit. The rear holes have been adapted for the dual gearbox. The "Tam_Pictured" stl is the file that was printed and used in the photos. The difference is that the gearbox is 5mm further forward in "Tam_Pictured", and there are two small mounting holes on the back. "Tamiya_Mount" has the gearbox 5mm further back, and loses the rear holes, but can better handle some tread configurations.

I have also added four extra mounting holes for mounting extra components to the base (micro servo, standoffs, etc). I will be adding an Arduino/servo mount as soon as I get those finished.

It just happened that the original screws that came with my kit hold snugly, but M3 machine screws/nuts should also work.

EDIT: uploaded pic with a more "tank" tread configuration.

Print Settings

Rafts:

Doesn't Matter

Supports:

No

Notes:

I printed at .2mm layer height and 60% infill. It seems to be plenty strong at these settings.

The print is 4mm thick. This was to accommodate the standoffs/nuts I have. If you would like it thicker, you should gain 1mm for every 25% added to the Z axis.

Category: R/C Vehicles
