Tamiya TL-01 alternative long arm set

This is an alternative long arm set for the Tamiya TL-01. The original long arm set by Tamiya is expensive and hard to come by. The original set also uses various parts from other chassis and if one of those parts breaks, you usually have to buy a whole parts set for that particular chassis, of which most of the parts are unusable for the TL-01. Expensive and wastefull. So i've developed this alternative long arm set that gives you the same geometrical end result of the original Tamiya set while reusing most of the stock TL-01 parts. You only need one extra M3x20mm bolt per arm, which are cheap and easy to find at your local hardware store. Have a look at my other designs for replacement steering hubs that fit this set. Please take note of your printer's tolerances, they are crucial to get this dimensionally accurate. These arms are designed to be a tight fit to eliminate the usual Tamiya play. You may need to run a 3mm drill through the holes for the hinge pins for them to move freely. DO NOT drill out the holes of the outer hinges, the M3 bolt needs to thread in there. Please thread the suspension pins in carefully the first time, my black PLA is a bit brittle and screwing in the pins has split some of the arm's ends. A bit of extra reaming with the drill bit may prevent this (just the side where the pin threads in). A bit of filing or sanding may be necessary to get everything moving freely but you'll end up with much less play in the whole suspension compared to the original parts. == DISCLAIMER == This long arm set is not designed or intended for competition use, even though I'm pretty confident that it will be reliable and durable enough.
