Tangent mechanism

A three-dimensional model of a tangent mechanism. When the active guide (red lever) swings, the driven guide (blue lever) moves up and down. The vertical distance of the guide lever movement is related to the tangent of the angle of the active guide lever. If this mechanism is connected in series with a crank rocker, it can be used for the active movement mechanism of a gear planer.
