I'm excited to share my very first DIY project - a custom box for playing the classic puzzle game of Tangram! After some trial and error, I settled on a box that measured approximately 6 inches by 4 inches by 2 inches. With my design finalized, I moved on to selecting materials for my project. Since I wanted my box to look sleek and modern, I chose high-quality wood veneer sheets in a dark gray color. This would not only provide a sophisticated appearance but also make it easy to clean the surface of the box. To assemble the box, I used a combination of glue and nails to secure the panels together. I also applied a coat of varnish to protect the finish and give it a smooth sheen. Finally, I added a touch of personality to my design by incorporating some fun details. I created a set of guidelines on the lid that would help players understand the different pieces and their corresponding shapes. I also included a small compartment in the box to store any spare pieces or puzzle solutions. Overall, building this custom Tangram box was an incredibly rewarding experience. It allowed me to express my creativity while developing essential skills like problem-solving and critical thinking.
