In my living room I had a light dimmer switch for the ceiling lamp with two circuits, which broke down and I had to remove the mechanism. Since this was quite expensive and putting in LED lights wasn't compatible with it anyway, I decided to take a different approach. Without the mechanism the button on the dimmer switch fell off and left an empty space visible. After browsing through this webpage, I found covers designed specifically for cases like mine, which gave me the idea of designing my own cover but one that wouldn't fall off. Here's the result.
