An enclosure for the 1541 Ultimate II tape adapter for the Commodore 64 and 128. http://www.1541ultimate.net/content/index.php In addition to providing protection for the bare circuit board, the shell helps to retain the extra length of ribbon cable. Trim the pins on the bottom of the circuit board and apply a couple of layers of electrical tape over the sharp points to prevent damage to the ribbon cable. Photos show the 1541U2 and tape adapter installed on a Commodore 128. Allows access to the two jumpers without having to remove the shell. If you do not route the ribbon cable inside the shell, the ribbon cable can also be disconnected without having to remove the shell. Requires two 12mm long M3 or M4 screws and two nuts to hold the shell together. Or use a plastic tie. This shell does not fit the newer 1541U2+ tape adapter which has a larger circuit board of a different shape. Consider this model instead: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3182150 UPDATED 4/9/2019: v1.1 models have less up-down circuit board play at the piggyback connector. Added unshrouded piggyback connector models for accomodating devices having a larger plug.
