Tasting Glass Holder

Tasting Glass Holder

This is great for Oktoberfest, Beer Festivals, etc. It holds your tasting glass for you, freeing up your hands for things like pretzels and burgers. In addition to printing this thing, you'll need about 110 cm of paracord or something similar. I've set it up to print upside down, that way the side that generally has a nicer finish becomes the top. I print on glass, so that side is usually nice and glossy. if you don't agree, feel free to flip it over. I would suggest printing this in ABS or PETG. It will work fine in PLA, but if you leave it in the car or out in the sun (on a table or some such) it will deform. I don't think you'll need a brim for ABS (I didn't), but if it warps on your print bed, add a 20 line brim and that should hold it down. Once you've printed it, pull a length of paracord through and tie knots in the ends. Then use a flame to burn the stray ends off the paracord. Otherwise, they'll fray. Be careful, the nylon in the paracord stays hot for a while (don't ask how I know). This isn't the pinnacle of design work, but they are really handy at brew fests. It will fit most of the tasting glasses I've run into, but it isn't going to fit all. You can scale it up in the x/y plane if you need to fit a bigger glass. Just be aware that the paracord holes will scale up too, and at some point will become too large. In that case, I've included the source file so you can scale it up and leave the cord holes alone, if you have at least minor CAD skills. Prost! Print Settings Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 35 Notes: I used 0.8mm top/bottom thickness and 2 shells (0.4 nozzle x 2 shells = 0.8 total).
