Team Losi XX / XXX 12 mm Front Hex adapter

Team Losi XX / XXX 12 mm Front Hex adapter

thingiverse

Front 12 mm Hex adapter for a variety of Team Losi vintage buggies (XX and XXX Series). Team Losi migrated to an in-hub bearing design with the introduction of the XX-Series of buggies. A variant of this was first used at the 1991 Worlds on a hybrid Pro SE / XX buggy that was raced by the team at that time. This hex was approximately 9.6 mm hex (~3/8") and was also employed on a variety of 4WD buggies for a time. Since that time, most modern buggies have migrated to a 12 mm hex (if equipped with an in-hub bearing design). This adapter is intended to slip over the existing 9.6 mm hex, and match up with a 12 mm hex on the rim. It should fit relatively tight to the wheel and effectively take up the gap between the old aluminum drive spindle and the modern rim. TLR modern rims should be pretty close the correct offset. You may/may not need a spacer to help support the axle/screw so a 2 mm thick spacer has been included. This will be highly dependent on the rim (may need to adjust the outer diameter/depth for best fit). Light reaming/filing may be needed at the hole otherwise no prep should be needed after printing.
