Polaris Indy 500 EFI to Carb Adapter

Polaris Indy 500 EFI to Carb Adapter

I created this adapter to convert a Polaris Indy 500 from EFI to carbs. The EFI engine uses 50 MM flange boots whereas the carb model uses 34 MM. Due to this difference, this typical conversion can cause tuning issues as the step in size can cause a low pressure scenario where fuel droplets fallout of the fuel / air mixture as it passes across the edge of the flange into the cylinder. I had a set of flanges from an Arctic Cat 440 L/C that matched the required 34 MM carb boot and the bolt pattern of the Polaris Indy 500 EFI. The overall length was shorter than factory which pulled the carbs closer to the engine and out of the airbox. These adapters solved both issues for as they taper to prevent the sharp step from one size to the next and the thickness positioned the carbs properly into the airbox. I used the factory o-rings included in the engine gasket kit. I added a thin layer of silicone between each layer to ensure a good seal. I had no issues with tuning using the factory jetting.
