DIY Basic Teleprompter Designed to take 5 x 7 Inch glass which you can get from a cheap 5 x 7 inch Picture frame. After printing remove supports, and slide glass in from the side, secure the side with black electrical tape. 3 Sizes 60mm, 70mm, 80mm The 80mm will fit the Sigma 16mm F1.4 Lens, the smaller sizes are for smaller lenses. The smaller the gap between the lens and hole the better to stop light coming in from behind, (which washes out the text) If the hole is too big it can fixed by draping some dark cloth (like a black t-shirt) over it. I make them to fit the lenses I have, and leave a little gap so it's not resting on the lens. There is a hole in the base big enough for a standard tripod mount. I designed this one to use 5 x 7" glass, which is a standard picture frame size, so the glass is cheap, just buy a $1 picture frame. As you can see the glass separates the colours a little bit, it all depends on how flat the glass is really, which is the luck of the draw when buying a picture frame, but still perfectly readable from a good distance. The alternative is "beam splitter glass" which wont separate the colours and be perfectly crisp. but that is about $100 for the same size and a lot more fragile. This is Designed to be freestanding on its own Tripod or Light stand, so you can quickly move it out of the way if you want to use your camera for something else. V1.5: The lens hole has been moved down, (looks slightly different from the pictures. This reduces the chance you will see the prompter in the edges of the camera and allows it to be slightly higher for a nicer reading height. Note, With picture frame glass, one side is normally better than the other, so try both sides of the glass. also picture frame glass can vary in quality from the same manufacture for the same frame! it is also often no cut super straight (or cleanly, watch for sharps!), i normally buy 2 or 3 $1-$2 picture frames and pick the best glass from those.
