Last December I got a Celestron Nexstar 130 SLT telescope from my awesome wife and I'm able to see Jupiter's moons (even without a 2x Barlow lens). It's great. http://www.celestron.com/astronomy/celestron-nexstar-130slt.htmlI created two adaptors for our Panasonic Lumix G2, so I could experiment with photography. The short (black) thick one is to mount the camera directly onto the telescope and the longer (blue) one is for use with a Barlow lens, it slides into the barrel.I think these adaptors also work for many other telescopes and they fit the Lumix G1, G2, G3, GH1, GH2, GF1, GF2, and GF3 cameras. If you try, let me know.The adaptors are easily strong enough to carry the weight of the camera, I printed in PLA on the Ultimaker 2 as a normal quality print. The little hole on the top also makes sure that the little security pin clicks into place, this way it locks the adaptor onto your camera safely, it can't slide off. If you don't hear the click when you rotate the adaptor, you might need to remove a tiny bit of excess PLA on the inner sides of the pin hole indent.The indent on the outside of the adaptors is just a visual aid so you can easily line up the adaptor to the red dot on the camera when attaching.To make the camera work (as it can't find a lens, it'll complain), turn off the red/blue lit iA button, set it to manual or any non-automatic function and go into the menu. At page 7 (pretty much the last item) there's an option to Shoot without lens, make sure to turn that on and you're ready to shoot.As I'm an astronomical photography n00b (an absolute beginner), the attached photo's are blurry (no tracking activated), with partial cloud cover and with the incorrect (ISO, exposure) settings, but I share them anyway, so you have an idea of the achievable resolution.
