Sanding inside the tube will likely be required, this is a very tight fit to maintain alignment during a night of observing. The Orion XT8's Tube OD is about 9" so if your tube OD is the same this may work for your telescope too if you have the same dovetail mount. WARNING: if you store the laser in the mount, the print may warp slightly, and the laser will get stuck. My first test was with PLA and after leaving it in the car it had warped significantly and I had to cut the mount off to remove the laser. Getting the laser pointer in the mount: -There should be some resistance and you will need to force the laser into the mount -The calibrating knobs should be seated all the way into the slots. -If you cant get it all the way down, start sanding down the interior of the mount until you are able to force the laser all the way down. -Next you can place the battery back in and screw on the back cap, locking the laser in place. Attaching the mount to the telescope: !Point the telescope downwards so nothing drops on your primary mirror! -Remove the finder scope and dovetail mount !There is a metal panel inside the tube that will fall when you remove the 2 screws so be ready to catch it! -Place the mount on the tube aligning the 2 holes with the 2 holes in the scope. -Place the dovetail mount on top of the mount and push the bolts back through. -Next you will need to place the panel back on the inside and thread on one of the nuts, !Make sure you ALWAYS keep pressure on that plate until the 1st nut is fastened, don't let it fall on the mirror!
