<p>A holder for 105 art pencils that telescopes for easier visual access. Grab the T handle and twist clockwise while pulling up to expand. Pull upward while twisting counterclockwise to collapse. When collapsed, turn all the way counterclockwise to lock in the collapsed position.</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><p>No supports are needed.</p> <p>Print the rings as a single part using 0.2mm quality profile, except:</p> <ul> <li>infill: 10%</li> <li>top layer infill: archimedian chords</li> <li>seam position: rear</li> <li>skirt: 2 loops, 15 layers</li> </ul> The skirt is important because it's a very long print (~2d). Print the handle flat using 0.2mm quality profile, except: <ul> <li>infill: 30%</li> <li>perimeters: 3</li> <li>seam position: rear</li> </ul><p>To attach the handle:</p> <p>After printing, lock the rings into the expanded position. Insert the T-handle into the square slot. Pin the handle in place with 1.75mm filament in the two horizontal holes (I use nylon filament, but PETG might work).</p> <p>Note that the holes are open on one side and terminate inside the pencil hole on the other (see cutaway picture). Insert the pin filament until it is just visible at the edge of the pencil hole, then cut it flush with the side of the ring so that the rings can move smoothly.</p> <p>Credit to <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IUJc3EG3m0&amp;t=648s">PattysLab</a> for the idea of the telescoping print, although I have found a way to do it without supports.</p>
