Telsa Model 3 Boot (Trunk) Internal Floor Hinge

Telsa Model 3 Boot (Trunk) Internal Floor Hinge

thingiverse

This Thing is to allow the internal floor board lid inside the boot (trunk) of a Tesla Model 3 to pivot on a fixed hinge. 2022, Chinese built, Standard+ model The goal was provide a secure hinge point for the lid and not obstruction the under floor opening, while minimising modifications to the car itself A thin steel hinge (piano hinge) is required, you can get this from Bunnings (if you live in Australia). A full length hinge is not required, I just choose to do this as it looked clean and OEM like. The full length hinge is to be cut to length and screwed to the edge of the floor board, on the edge towards to the front of the car. The hinge should be positioned so that when it is folded, it does not protrude above the top carpet level of the floor board. The with left and right printed corner pieces (with the Tesla logo) in place on the car, I used the "hook" portion of Velco strips to secure the printed corner pieces to the car and found this provided enough grab directly to the carpet. The floor board can be put in position by vertically sliding the remaining part of the hinge into the slot in the printed part. The printed middle pieces are optional, but it secures into the hinge holes and stops the floor board hinge from popping out of the corner slots when it is closed quickly. Also noted, the holes and pins on the middle pieces are designed specifically for the hinge mentioned, so just check spacings etc for your hinge. A final note, if you as having trouble with the middle "L" pieces warping when printing (like I did) use the raft setting on your slicer.
