edit2 7/2/15 I created a new version that is easier to print and assemble, no supports required. See it here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:937556 My wife has been working on a book based on the Vestal Virgins in Ancient Rome. (http://teralynpilgrim.blogspot.com/p/my-query-letter.html (link to her Query letter). For her birthday this year I modeled up the temple using her research and other historical information. I then printed it out in a few pieces, painted, and glued them altogether. Modeled in solidworks. edit uploaded a set of .stl files that don't have the small pieces that force extra support to be built. these .stl files are found in the temple of vesta.zip file. Instructions I printed this out in multiple pieces partially due to reducing support and partially due to stepping through the prints and finding tweaks necessary to the model. My original plan was to knock it all out in 2 pieces Printed one of each on a replicator 2, PLA 2 shells, .2mm layer thickness and 10% infill. scaled all parts down by 35%. Painted, sanded mating surfaces and glued together Also I was having issues with peeling, so I wound up tweaking the model to force my rep to build each large section on top of a portion of support material. The support acted as "shocks" which allowed the raft to peel but ensured that the actual bottoms of the pieces are perfectly flat. If anyone wants the .stl files without the small pieces that force the parts to print a layer of support I can upload those. Parts are oriented incorrectly as well, make sure to rotate them to lie flat on the build plate.
