This model is Voluntary Closing device.The Movable part is actuated by cable.As the movable part slides, it grabs the object to be lifted. Then the Locking Cam is closed by the user.This makes sure that we need not apply any force to grab an object for a long time .To open the device just release the Locating Cam .Once the cam is released the movable arm gets back to it's original position due to the spring.
