This diamondback terrapin bycatch reduction device (BRD, or TED (Terrapin Excluder Device)) is designed to be attached to the funnels of commercial-style blue crab traps, and will significantly lower accidental catch of diamondback terrapins and other marine animals. The design should be printed in red or orange ABS filament to be most effective. Print on a high resolution to smooth the curved edges of the design. The last photo shows how BRDs are attached in crab traps. This PDF shows how to install a BRD.
