Sheath for the Blade of Woe
A valuable addition to one of my earlier props: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3812004 The mesh was originally designed by Bethesda Studios back in 2005/2006 and ripped by me from the Oblivion.bsa file in the game directory. As for all my game props, I use the ORIGINAL game mesh. Just very little modelling by me was done, as for instance seams and/or alignment joints. These were necessary to make the props printable. The Bethesda (low poly) mesh itself was left sacred.
Printing instructions:
1. Print both parts vertically. 2. I printed the smallest part using 0% infill, 3 walls (2 walls in the latest Cura (4.6)) and 0.2 resolution. 3. You might want to print the tallest part of the sheath with some infill (+/-20%) or use a support blocker with 20% infill on just the last 3cm of the part (as I did).
Assembly instructions (IMPORTANT):
1. I did a lot of research on joining two PLA parts together and what tends to make the strongest joint. Eventually I ended up using a hot metal plate (eg. an iron) to fuse the printed parts together. Just gently brush the base of each part to the iron prior to fusing them together. It may take some practice, but my bonds have never been stronger! 2. (optional): Prime the model and paint it to your liking or according to the added original texture. 3. Post that make, or pay with your blood!
Now you should rest and meditate on what you've learned.

Check my profile for more Elder Scrolls props.
