Tessellating Chainmail
thingiverse
I designed a remix of CMeehanPrint's rendition of NASA's 3D printed chainmail fabric, thickening the base from 0.45mm to over 1mm for added strength. I followed his instructions loosely, but successfully assembled the parts in SolidWorks and printed them on a Stratasys J750. The design includes a square link, a triangular link, and a unique chainmail pattern featuring tessellating squares and triangles. https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.php?feature=6816 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4bZIf3B3gc https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2437081
